Alice Corrine Caldwell

Alice Corrine Shelor Caldwell, 68, of Indian Valley, VA, went home to be with the Lord and her loved ones in heaven on Monday, March 23, 2009. She passed away at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Alice bravely fought health problems for many years. She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband, who was also her wonderful caregiver through the years, and missed greatly by her children, grandchildren, and family. She was a loving spouse, mother, and sister to her family. She was a graduate of Carson-Newman College and a member of the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Posey and Eloise Shelor of Meadows of Dan; Brothers Glenn and Morgan Shelor; and dear mother-in-law Senora Caldwell Keith. Surviving are her loving husband, Joe Caldwell; children and spouses Ronda Caldwell and John Shaw, Jennifer and Lee Ferguson, Jimmy and Sharlene Caldwell, Senora and Paul Faulkner; grandchildren Khalil Caldwell, Rachel and James Caldwell, Dustin, Sandra, and Peyton Faulkner; siblings Edna Ann Shelor, Susie Shelor, Nancy Wynn, and Joe Shelor; brothers and sisters-in-law Jack and Sandra Davis, Mildred Weddle, Ab and Mary Huff.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the following special friends and family members: Carilion Home Care Services, Sandra and Jack Davis, Stephen and Angela Duncan, Ada Belcher, and Eddie Young. Funeral Services will held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with burial at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Maberry Funeral Home in Floyd.
