Opal Mae Quesenberry Gordon

Opal Mae Quesenberry Gordon, 87, of Indian Valley, VA, went to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, April 17, 2011.

She was born on June 3, 1923 to the late Hobert and Bertha Quesenberry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth William Gordon; her two sons, Kenneth William Gordon, Jr. and Freddie Evans Gordon; and her grandson, Mark Edwin Gordon. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Edna Young and two brothers, Basil and Burley Quesenberry.

She is survived by her Three Daughters, Ruby Jane Gordon of Indian Valley, VA, Connie Sue Quesenberry of Indian Valley, VA, and Loretta Lynn Phillips of Christiansburg, VA; Grandchildren, Alisa Knapp of Indian Valley, VA, Jennifer and Dale Smith of Christiansburg, VA, Jason and April Phillips of Christiansburg, VA, and Jody Mills of Blacksburg, VA; Great Grandchildren , Cody Smith, Cory Knapp, Austin and Riley Mills, Chloe and Ethan Phillips; Sister-in-law, Fugie Quesenberry of Roanoke, VA; Two Special Friends, Gary Linkous “Gomer” and Bo Hylton; Special Niece, Lisa Epperly “Green Cakes”.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. You will always be in our hearts. We will remember you every spring as the flowers bloom and for your love of working in your yard.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 at the funeral home.
