Jessie T. Heafner

Jessie T. Heafner, 97 of Floyd, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, J.M. Tise & Alice Peterman Tise; husband, Herman H. Heafner; sisters, Virginia T. Kirkwood, and Marguerite Tise.

Jessie was one of the first five volunteers at Angels in the Attic, was a member of the Floyd County Woman’s Club, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Bridge Club and enjoyed the fellowship there. She was very active in the Zion Lutheran Church where her father once pastored.

She is survived by numerous loving friends; and several nieces and nephews from the Heafner family.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Linda Motley officiating. Interment to follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angels in the Attic, Building Fund, P.O.
