Treva Elmira Harris Henley

Treva Elmira Harris Henley, 95, born June 18, 1917, in Indian Valley, Floyd County, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home in Radford, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis Henley; her parents, Simon and Roena Smith Harris; step-mother, Maranda Slusher Harris; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Larry and Jane Henley of Roanoke, Donald Edward and Joyce Henley of Childress; one daughter and son-in-law, Anna May and Carmon Roop of Radford. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 7 step great-grandchildren and 3 step great great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Lyle of Radford; and a multitude of nieces and nephews, and a very special niece Verlie Slusher.

The family would like to express a heart felt thanks to the Carilion Clinic Hospice Team for providing such wonderful care. A very special thank you to Sherry Reed and Karen King for your kindness and special care that was given, not only to our mother but to the family as well. God places people in our lives for a reason.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Paul Williams, Elder Tim Witten, and Elder Ed Bowman officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Maberry Funeral Home, Inc.
